We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated person to join the Crick Advanced Light Microscopy Science and Technology Platform (CALM-STP). This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced microscopist to apply and develop their skills supporting advanced light microscopy at one of the premier research institutes in Europe.

Project scope

The Senior Microscopist will work with the CALM team to support light microscopy within the STP. Supported methods include wide-field fluorescence, multi-mode long-term time-lapse, confocal, multi-photon, and light sheet microscopies. The Senior Microscopist will ensure that microscopes within the core facility are well maintained and train Crick researchers to use the microscopes correctly. They will advise our researchers on the use of microscopy in their work, including experimental design, approaches to imaging living and fixed specimens, development of protocols, and assistance with the analysis and interpretation of experimental data. The Senior Microscopist will assist with frequent demos of commercial equipment to support procurement of imaging equipment for both the core facility and the institute as a whole.
