Postdoctoral Fellow in Organic Chemistry, EMBL Heidelberg, Germany

The Deo group in Heidelberg is seeking a Post-doctoral fellow with a background in synthetic chemistry. This full-time project focusses on the development of novel photoswitchable fluorophores tailored for imaging in deep tissue. We are a dynamic and interdisciplinary group, working at the interface of synthetic chemistry and protein engineering, developing molecular tools for biological imaging. Your role

• Design and synthesis of organic fluorophores.
• Characterization of their performance in vitro using spectroscopic studies.
• Collaboration with microscopists and biologists for implementation in novel imaging systems.
• Supervision and training of students.
• Dissemination of results in publications and presentations.
