About the ELMI

ELMI was created in 2001 to establish a unique communication network between European scientists working in the field of light microscopy and the manufacturers of their equipment.

Our Aims

The 3 Major Aims of ELMI:

  • Promote biological imaging as a fundamental tool for basic and applied research in the life sciences.
  • Assist scientists working in the life sciences to fully exploit the power of biological imaging by improving the transfer of knowledge.
  • Promote awareness of the potential of modern imaging techniques for biotechnology with particular emphasis on pharmaceutical applications.
