Full time 35 hours per week

We are looking for a highly motivated Bio-imaging support scientist to join the Advanced Imaging Resource at the IGMM.

The Opportunity:

The AIR is a core facility comprising 25 cutting edge bioimaging systems including Confocals, Epifluorescent microscopes and super-resolution imaging and a bio-image analysis hub. The resource supports Molecular Medicine research from all IGMM centres as well as vistors from across Edinburgh University and the UK. The role will involve AIR user assistance and training, microscope maintenance and providing support with bioimage analysis.

Your skills and attributes for success:

• A BSc or equivalent experience in Biomedicine, Molecular Cell Biology, Biophysics or related subjects
• Research experience using quantitative light microscope to generate novel insights into biomedical science.
• At least one year’s experience of a core light microscopy facility either as an end user or in a technical support role.
• Strong record keeping, time management and organisational skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
