Unsere zentralen Technologieplattformen (Core Facilities) unterstützen die Forschung am DKFZ, indem sie Wissenschaftler:innen Zugang zu modernsten Geräten und methodischer Expertise bieten. Zur Verstärkung der Abteilung Enabling Technology, in der die Core Facilities organisatorisch gebündelt sind, suchen wir eine:n Referent:in für Core Facility Finanzen, der:die in enger Zusammenarbeit mit der zentralen Finanzabteilung und den Core Facilities die Finanzverwaltung der Technologieplattformen unterstützt.

The German Cancer Research Center is the largest biomedical research institution in Germany. With more than 3,000 employees, we operate an extensive scientific program in the field of cancer research.

Our central technology platforms (core facilities) support research at DKFZ by providing scientists with access to state-of-the-art equipment and methodological expertise. To strengthen the Enabling Technology Department, in which the core facilities are organizationally bundled, we are looking for a Finance Officer who will support the financial management of the technology platforms in close cooperation with the Finance Department and the core facilities.

Ihre Aufgaben:

  • Analyse der Kostenstrukturen der verschiedenen Core Facilities
  • Unterstützung bei der Einführung und Anwendung einer Online-Buchungsplattform für die Planung und Erfassung der Services
  • Erstellung von Kostenkalkulationen für die verschiedenen Services der Core Facilities
  • Integration dieser Kalkulationen in die Finanz- und Beschaffungsprozesse
  • Vorbereitung von Finanzierungskonzepten zur Sicherung der Nachhaltigkeit der Core Facilities in Zusammenarbeit mit der Finanz- und der Drittmittelabteilung
  • Unterstützung des Chief Enabling Technology Officers (CETO) bei der Budgetplanung und Finanzverwaltung der Core Facilities
  • Analysis of the financial structure of the core facilities
  • Support in the introduction and use of an online booking platform for planning and tracking services
  • Development and implementation of a cost matrix for the various core facility services
  • Integration of this tool into the accounting and procurement processes
  • Preparation of financing concepts to ensure the sustainability of the core facilities in collaboration with the Finance Department and Grants Office
  • Support of the Chief Enabling Technology Officer (CETO) in budget planning and financial management of the core facilities

Ihr Profil:

  • Abgeschlossenes Studium der Betriebswirtschaftslehre (vorzugsweise Master, Bachelor nur bei entsprechender Berufserfahrung) 
  • Erfahrung im kaufmännischen Bereich an akademischen Forschungseinrichtungen von Vorteil
  • Kenntnisse im Controlling und in der Kosten- und Leistungsrechnung sind wünschenswert
  • Sicherer Umgang mit IT-Anwendungen, insbesondere MS Office / Excel, wird vorausgesetzt
  • Sehr gute Deutsch- und Englischkenntnisse in Wort und Schrift
  • Analytisches Denkvermögen, Problemlösungsfähigkeit und hohe Affinität zu Zahlen​​​​​
  • Teamfähigkeit und eine selbstständige Arbeitsweise
  • Completed studies in business administration (preferably Master’s degree, Bachelor only with relevant professional experience)
  • Experience in the commercial area at academic research institutions is an advantage
  • Solid knowledge of financial and accounting procedures is desirable
  • Confident handling of IT applications, especially MS Office / Excel, is required
  • Very good command of written and spoken English
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and numerical skills
  • Ability to work in a team and independently
