The Open Microscopy Environment (OME) is an open-source software project that develops tools like Bio-Formats that enable access, analysis, visualization, sharing and publication of biological image data. OME supports more than 150 image data formats across many imaging modalities including medical imaging, high-content screening and whole-slide imaging.
OME supports and visualize multi-channel 3D time-lapse images. OMERO, a component of OME, is a software platform for image data management and analysis which will be presented in this workshop. Import, organization, viewing, searching, annotation and publishing of imaging data with OMERO will be shown.
Participants will have the unique chance to meet and discuss with 2 OME core developers from the University of Dundee. Since the Biozentrum hosts a large OMERO installation for life science research data, participants can profit from hands-on training and the massive experience in a real-life scenario.
This workshop is open for technicians, PhD students, Postdocs, staff scientists, group leaders and system administrators / IT staff who want to engage in managing, visualizing and analyzing microscopy images and associated metadata.
Prior knowledge in microscopy, scripting and image / data analysis is not required.
