ELMI was created in 2001 to establish a unique communication network between European scientists working in the field of light microscopy and the manufacturers of their equipment.
The European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL) is a European flagship organisation in the life sciences. The Headquarters Laboratory is located in Heidelberg (Germany) and the other sites are in Barcelona (Spain), Grenoble (France), Hamburg (Germany), Hinxton (UK) and Rome (Italy). EMBL Heidelberg hosts four research units, Cell Biology and Biophysics, Developmental Biology, Genome Biology, Structural and Computational Biology, the EMBL core facilities, the EMBL Imaging Center (EIC), and has established a new Data Science Center in 2022 that acts across all EMBL sites.
With this call, EMBL is seeking a Team Leader for a new BioImage Analysis Service Team to be established as part of the Data Science Centre. The team has the mission of highest-level user service provision in BioImage Analysis. It will comprise as well as actively connect experts and developers in image analysis for different modalities in light microscopy, volume electron microscopy, and structural analysis by (in situ) cryo-EM – via leading, synergizing and fostering data integration between these modalities. The position will be embedded within the EMBL imaging center (EIC) and the EMBL core facilities structure (ALMF and EMCF), with responsibilities to provide support in BioImage Analysis internally across the EMBL and to external users.
