ELMI was created in 2001 to establish a unique communication network between European scientists working in the field of light microscopy and the manufacturers of their equipment.
The Ries lab is developing super-resolution microscopy methods for structural cell biology. We are looking for a Postdoctoral Researcher with an optics background to establish interferometric 4Pi single-molecule localization microscopy.
Open since Jun 02, 2023
The aim of the project is to establish a multi-color interferometric single-molecule microscope with record 3D resolution based on a prototype developed together with leading microscopy groups. You would then assist biologists from the group and external collaborators to employ this microscope to investigate multi-protein assemblies with structural resolution in cells.
We are looking for a talented, highly motivated postdoctoral scientist who shares our enthusiasm for pushing the limits of microscopy to enable biological discovery. You should hold a PhD degree in physics or engineering and should have extensive experience with constructing and aligning complex optical setups. Experience with fluorescence microscopy and programming (Labview and Python or Matlab) will be helpful. Training and supervision will be provided throughout the project, but we also expect a high level of drive and independence. Excellent spoken and written English skills are required.

Interviews will be held on a rolling basis and as soon as a suitable candidate is found, the position will be filled.
