ELMI was created in 2001 to establish a unique communication network between European scientists working in the field of light microscopy and the manufacturers of their equipment.
An advanced workshop for microscopists and programmers on Open Application Development (OAD) using the ZEISS ZEN Blue software environment
20th June – 22th June 2017
Center for Biological Systems Analysis (ZBSA)
Freiburg University
Organization: Microscopy and Image Analysis Platform (MIAP), Freiburg
MIAP, the Microscopy and Image Analysis Platform Freiburg, is a highly competitive joint network for scientific infrastructure providing access to high-end microscopy and image analysis resources.
About the workshop:
The ZEN Blue software is an open, flexible and powerful image acquisition platform that allows controlling a wide range of microscopes from ZEISS. Nowadays the automation of workflows and the smart linkage of image acquisition and image analysis are crucial (e.g. tracking migrating or growing cells, changing imaging parameters such as cell morphology changes). To fulfill those demands the ZEN Blue platform offers various features and options, which are combined inside a novel concept called Open Application Development (OAD).
The main components of OAD are:
The advanced workshop will give an overview about the various options allowing to automate workflows. Three use cases will be presented in talks. Different examples will be explained in detail and programmed during the hands-on sessions. The workshop is supported by two experienced programmers from Carl Zeiss Microscopy. The third day will be dedicated to test the programmed macros on 6 different microscope setups, which are driven by the ZEN Blue software.
Registration www.imaging.uni-freiburg.de
The registration fee of 75€ covers finger food and refreshments (invoiced after the workshop)
Due to the intense practical sessions the course will be restricted to a maximum of 20 participants
Registration deadline: June, 10th 2017
