ELMI was created in 2001 to establish a unique communication network between European scientists working in the field of light microscopy and the manufacturers of their equipment.
The Core Facility session of the ELMI meeting 2018 in Dublin took place on 5 June 2018.
Provisional ELMI programme including the CF session is available.
Continuing in the successful format of previous years, the ELMI 2018 Core Facility Satellite Meeting will feature a number of interactive sessions targeted at core facility managers and staff. All other interested ELMI participants, including company representatives are very welcome.
The goal of the satellite meeting is to exchange views, share experience, identify problems and solutions, best practices and standards related to core facility work.
This year’s meeting will feature sessions on “Image analysis in imaging facilities”, “Centralised computing to improve image analysis efficiency and workflows” and “Sample controls”, as well as discussions on “Teaching and courses carried out by the core facilities” and “Combining activities for (multi-) core facilities”.
Of course, social interaction is again high on the agenda, including the already traditional football match Facilities versus Companies.
This year’s meeting is organised by: Beate Neuman (EMBL, Heidelberg, Germany); Karin Aumayr (IMP, Vienna, Austria); Oliver Biehlmaier (Biozentrum, Basel, Switzerland); Aleš Benda (BIOCEV, Vestec, Czech Republic) ; Martin Spitaler (MPI for Biochemistry, Martinsried, Germany) and Sebastian Munck (VIB/KU, Leuven, Belgium).
The programme of this session is available on elmi2018.eu/programme/core-facility-satellite-meeting.
