ELMI was created in 2001 to establish a unique communication network between European scientists working in the field of light microscopy and the manufacturers of their equipment.
Europe’s top cancer charity, Cancer Research UK, has combined with the University of Cambridge to fund the world class Cambridge Institute (CRUK CI) situated on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus.
The Institute’s research ranges from basic cancer biology through translational research to clinical application. The Institute currently houses over 400 researchers and contains state-of-the-art research facilities.
The Imaging & Microscopy core facility at the Institute provides imaging support to scientists as well as opportunities for new imaging developments and image analysis projects. Details can be found at: www.lightmicroscopy.cruk.cam.ac.uk/
We are now looking for a highly motivated, creative and self-driven scientist who is expert in advanced image data analysis and light microscopy techniques, ideally someone actively involved in the open source bio-image analysis community (e.g. NEUBIAS).
The successful candidate will have excellent knowledge of open source and commercial image data analysis tools and experience in light microscopy techniques including cell biology applications. The post holder will primarily provide support for developing image analysis methods and tools working closely with CRUK CI researchers. The post holder will be required to provide image analysis training and teaching in practical courses and workshops for students and staff at the CRUK CI and the wider Cambridge scientific community.
