The Microscopy Core at Universidad de Los Andes in Bogotá/Colombia has the following position available:

Job Title: Laboratory analyst/technician (AFM and Confocal microscopy)

Job description:

• Operation and maintenance of the atomic force microscope and confocal laser scanning microscope with their accessories, alignment, control measurements, communication with technical service.
• Providing help and support to users during acquisition and processing of image data.

Qualification expected:

• Bachelor’s degree in science (Physics, chemistry, biology, microbiology) or engineering (electronics, electrical, mechanical, chemical or similar).
• Master’s degree in Life Sciences or Engineering is desirable but not required.
• Experience working with Atomic force microscopy (Experience with Asylum research systems preferable).
• Basic knowledge of optical microscopy, especially advanced optical microscopic techniques (laser scanning confocal microscopy) is desirable but not required (appropriate training will be provided).
