ELMI was created in 2001 to establish a unique communication network between European scientists working in the field of light microscopy and the manufacturers of their equipment.

Light Microscopy Specialist, Northwestern University in Chicago, USA

The Center for Advanced Microscopy (CAM) and Nikon Imaging Center (NIC) at Northwestern University in Chicago is looking to hire a new Light Microscopy Specialist with extensive experience in image acquisition and analysis. The individual should hold a PhD in a relevant field and have experience with fluorescence microscopy imaging modalities such as confocal and/or super resolution microscopy. Proficiency with image analysis using established software packages and the ability to create customized image acquisition and analysis workflows is essential.

 

CAM is the microscopy core facility for the Feinberg School of Medicine of Northwestern University in downtown Chicago. We currently consist of five members of staff who provide training, support and assistance for light and electron microscopy to a wide user base. CAM includes one of the nine elite worldwide Nikon Imaging Centers and we maintain a large cadre of instrumentation for sample preparation, image acquisition and image analysis.

Areas of current growth in the facility include live-cell fluorescence microscopy, tissue and intravital imaging, super-resolution microscopy, and correlative light and electron microscopy (CLEM).
