ELMI was created in 2001 to establish a unique communication network between European scientists working in the field of light microscopy and the manufacturers of their equipment.
The Scientific Center for Optical and Electron Microscopy (ScopeM) is a central technology platform of the ETH Zurich and one of the leading core facilities in Switzerland offering access to high-end electron and light microscopy and related techniques. Although the centre itself serves many different research disciplines (physics, geology, biology, material science, chemistry etc.) most of the light microscopy efforts are concentrating on life and materials sciences.
