The Centre for Advanced Light Microscopy is a recently established centre of expertise at Ghent University. This microscopy facility provides scientists access to an advanced microscopy infrastructure for top-level research . The facility is responsible for the necessary training of visitors and providing support of visitors for conducting microscopy experiments, image analysis and data processing.
As a Light Microscope Specialist you are primarily responsible for the training and support of the visitors of the microscopy facility. Together with the facility manager you determine the most-suited protocol to answer the research question at hand. You are responsible for the guidance of the visitors and the execution of these experiments, and provide support for processing, interpretation and reporting of the experimental data. Furthermore you monitor and maintain the quality of the instruments in the microscopy facility. Also an active participation in the further development of the microscopy facility is expected. We offer a one-year contract that can be extended after a positive evaluation.
