The Department of Molecular Biosciences, The Wenner-Gren Institute (MBW), seeks a facility manager for the Imaging Facility at Stockholm University (IFSU). IFSU is a Core Facility for light and electron microscopy supported by the Faculty of Science. IFSU provides researchers and graduate students access to state-of-the-art instrumentation for imaging of biological samples with emphasis on advanced light microscopy and related image analysis. The facility is a resource for scientists from Stockholm University and other institutes of higher education in the Stockholm area.

Main responsibilities
The position is multifaceted and includes both technical and administrative tasks. As IFSU manager, you will provide user training and support, be responsible for instrument service, plan and administer the facility budget. User training includes instructing new users, organizing practical courses and demonstrations of the IFSU instruments, and providing advanced training for experienced users. Service includes routine control of microscopes, computers and peripheral equipment, as well as maintaining contact with specialist technical support, and negotiating the renewal of service contracts. Your administrative tasks include procurements, administering the booking system, billing user fees, updating and developing the IFSU website, and ensuring the maintenance of the physical premises. You will participate as a member of the IFSU Steering Group, charged with the responsibility for drafting the agenda, and providing budgetary and operational updates.
