The BioImaging Facility at I.S.T. Austria, Klosterneuburg (AT) seeks a full-time microscopy expert.

Responsibilities:

• Support of overall facility operation

• Assist in trainings, teaching, technical workshops and outreach
• Optimize and perform quality monitoring and system performance checks
• Support and development of advanced quantitative microscopy-based measurement methods (FLIM, FRAP, TIRF, multiphoton, Spinning Disk)
• Operation and support of Fluorescence Assisted Cell Sorting (FACS)
• Participate in image analysis projects and support research projects by providing microscopy services on a high-end level

Desired profile:

• PhD or relevant education / research experience Natural Sciences, preferably in the area of (Bio)Physics (optics, light microscopy), Biophysics, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, or comparable
• Proven experience in advanced, quantitative microscopy and/or cytometry applications (confocal, multiphoton, spinning disc, light sheet, TIRF)
• Image analysis (knowledge scripting or statistics is of advantage)
• Service oriented, precise, structured and reliable working style
• Team-oriented work spirit, motivated, ability to work independently
• Excellent communication skills in English
