ELMI was created in 2001 to establish a unique communication network between European scientists working in the field of light microscopy and the manufacturers of their equipment.
The VBCF Advanced Microscopy Facility is currently seeking a highly motivated, full-time Advanced Microscopy Applications Specialist. The Vienna Biocenter Core Facilities (VBCF) offers cutting-edge technologies for life science researchers at the Vienna Biocenter Campus and beyond. The Advanced Microscopy facility provides researchers with a diverse selection of advanced optical microscopy and spectroscopy techniques, which include light sheet microscopy, superresolution microscopy, as well as time-resolved (fluorescence correlation, fluorescence lifetime) and wavelength resolved microscopy/spectroscopy setups. The facility is equipped with state-of-the-art commercial and self-built microscopes as well as imaging

The responsibility of the Advanced Microscopy Applications Specialist will be to assist users on selected instruments in the form of training, operation, experimental guidance / project planning, sample preparation as well as data evaluation. The person filling this position will also be responsible for instrument maintenance as well as regular performance checks and calibration/alignment as needed.
