ELMI was created in 2001 to establish a unique communication network between European scientists working in the field of light microscopy and the manufacturers of their equipment.
The Instituto Gulbenkian de Ciência is welcoming applications to a Post-Doctoral Research Fellowship within the project EMBO EMBO IG 4734, with the title “Unveiling live-cell viral replication at the nanoscale”, financed by EMBO with the following conditions:
1. Duration: The fellowship will have the duration of 12 months with the possibility of renewal until the end of the project or until the end date of the project’s possible renewal, expected to start in month 2020, in the exclusiveness regime as the regulation of research fellow by the Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia, IP into force.
2. Subject of Activities: The post-doctorate researcher will work closely with experimental researchers in the laboratory of Prof. Ricardo Henriques to conceive the ideal design for studies of viral infection with HIV-1 using super-resolution microscopy. The project involves establishing viral infection assays and the analysis of the viral entry process in cells. The aim is to explore new prototyped technology in the laboratory to understand how the viral entry process is linked to replication efficiency.
3. Research Groups: Optical Cell Biology – led by Prof. Ricardo Henriques
