ELMI was created in 2001 to establish a unique communication network between European scientists working in the field of light microscopy and the manufacturers of their equipment.
We are looking for an expert scientist in microscopy to assist faculty, postdoctoral researchers, staff, and collaborators in advance microscopy techniques and methodologies, as well as routine maintenance of the instrumentation infrastructure. The Director of Microscopy Operations will consult on the development, evaluation, and performance of studies that support the goals and objectives of the Cell and Molecular Biology department. This person may manage quality control, competency assessment, proficiency testing, regulatory requirements, and instrument maintenance and will serve as a resource to others in advance microscopy techniques and methodologies, including tissue analysis and live cell imaging, FRET, FLIM, FRAP, FCS and TIRF, as well as routine maintenance of the instrumentation infrastructure. Other activities include assessing diverse situations, considering alternatives, and choosing or recommending appropriate courses of action, such as the introduction of new approaches and technologies for new instrumentation to the department. Preparation of manuscripts and grant applications, and presentation of the research at in-house and national meetings.
