ELMI was created in 2001 to establish a unique communication network between European scientists working in the field of light microscopy and the manufacturers of their equipment.
The European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL) is a world leader in scientific research and at the forefront in the development of cutting-edge technologies. In particular, exciting single cell genomic methods co-developed by EMBL are revolutionising biological research. The field is advancing at a very rapid and exciting pace to measure multiple parameters from the same single cell (multi-omics) and to study cells in their native in-situ context (spatial-omics).
EMBL is seeking an experienced and highly motivated staff scientist who loves developing and applying new spatial omics methods, and would like to expand their skills in multi-omics and imaging.
The successful candidate will join the Genomic Technology Development (GenTechDev) team dedicated to developing and refining novel methods in single-cell multi-modal spatial omics and making these methods accessible to EMBL and the broader Heidelberg research community. The GenTechDev Team works closely with EMBL core facilities and multiple EMBL research groups, including those of Eileen Furlong, Rainer Pepperkok and Sinem Saka, andour collaborators at Cellzome (a GSK company). Your role will be to adapt, integrate, optimize and standardise spatial-omics methods, to enable researchers to more readily apply these technologies to diverse applications.
The work will be carried out in an international, interdisciplinary, and highly collaborative environment at the cutting edge of new technologies, with a range of possibilities to acquire new skills and techniques.
