About the ELMI

ELMI was created in 2001 to establish a unique communication network between European scientists working in the field of light microscopy and the manufacturers of their equipment.

Quantitative Light Microscopy Course, 20-24 February 2023, CRG Barcelona, Spain

Description
This five-day comprehensive and intensive course covers the entire spectrum of bioimaging, starting from the fundamental basis of optical microscopy, instrumentation, specimen preparation, molecular markers, right up to the most recent and revolutionary development in bioimaging and bioimage data analysis, including artificial intelligence in microscopy. The course is designed for both novice researchers and as well as those having some previous experience with microscopy and its applications.

The first four days composes of lecture series to cover the theory of optical microscopy and its different modalities and applications. Students will also have the opportunity for exercise on different type of light microscopes provided by the sponsors and CRG training, and use samples provided by the Advanced Light Microscopy Unit (ALMU). On the third day, within the bioimage data management and analysis session, students will have the opportunity to practice bioimaging analysis including artificial intelligence. The fifth day will compose of a tour and demo of the instruments at ALMU to demonstrate the different imaging modalities presented the lecture series and showcase the different technologies using instruments at ALMU.
